What information we collect about you
If you are only using the website for informational purposes, i.e., if you do not book or otherwise provide us with information, we will only collect the personally identifiable information that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the data that is technically necessary for us to display our website and ensure its stability and security.
When you make a booking with us via our Channel Manager Wubook we collect the names of all the guests who will be staying and the home address, email address, and telephone number of the person making the booking. We also collect a debit or credit card number to take the deposit.

How we use the information we hold on you

We use your home address as part of the card payment processing to validate the card.
We will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking and an email with more details on how to find us and other information you may find useful for your stay.
After your stay, you will receive an automatic thank-you e-mail.
We will not use your telephone number to contact you unless it is for an emergency and/or we have been unable to contact you by email.

How is your data stored

All of the personal and debit/credit card data you supply us, as part of the booking process, is stored securely on a third-party system, Wubook.
Neither we nor Wubook will share your information with any third party unless there is a legal reason for doing so.

The use of cookies

Cookies will be stored on your device during the use of our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive assigned to the browser you use, and through which the place where the cookie is set accrues certain information.
We may also collect your device’s IP address as part of the basic functioning of this website. We do this to allow the website to function properly and to collect anonymous information about how this website is used, through Google Analytics.

Contact by e-mail or contact form

When you contact us by e-mail or through the contact form on our website, we will store the data you provide (your name, your e-mail address, and your telephone number if provided) so we can answer your questions.
We may invite you to sign up to our newsletter or follow us on Social media.
You may of course revoke this consent for the future at any time.
This data will never be shared with 3rd parties and is deleted when no longer needed.

Marketing

We would like to stay in touch with you to send information about our Guesthouse, any special offers we may have or local events. We send occasional emails to people on our distribution list. The distribution list is managed by a secure third party, Mailchimp.

Guest Registration

We are required by law to collect the name, nationality, and passport numbers of all our guests and to keep this information on file for a year to be able to show them to law enforcement if so required.
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. If you would like a copy of this information please email us at welcome@orionbb.com
You also have the right to request to be deleted from our records, however, the "Right to be Forgotten" doesn’t override any legislative requirements.

WiFi Surveillance Cameras
​
We have 3 WiFi cameras on the outside of Orion Treehouses. One looks down the driveway, the other looks over the car park and the 3rd looks out over the path up to the domain. None of the cameras are pointed at the guest bedrooms, pool area or garden.
We use these cameras for the security of our property, ourselves, our guests and our guests’ property.
The data is recorded securely online and is kept for a year.
The only people to have access to this data are the Guesthouse owner & manager. The data can only be accessed via an app on our smartphones, both of which are password protected.
